Tips
Animal sightings can never be guaranteed on a safari. However, the guides always strive to increase your chances of encountering wildlife.
Victoria Falls can be visited year-round, but the water flow varies depending on the time of year.
We recommend a maximum of 18 kg of luggage in a soft-sided suitcase/large backpack and one piece of hand luggage.
Travel insurance is not included in our pricing but is strongly recommended.
Yes, on some trips. Where available, we offer options to extend your stay or add pre- and post-tour nights. Let us know your preferences and we’ll help arrange additional services where possible.
Yes, we recommend bringing a universal travel adaptor suitable for Southern Africa. UK three-pin plugs will not fit all sockets used locally. Some hotels may provide adaptors or USB sockets, but bringing your own is the safest option.
No. While we sell tours in multiple countries (i.e. Germany, France, United Kingdom, etc), we do not combine guests from those countries into a single departure. However, if, for instance, a German customer were to purchase from one of our UK sites (i.e. www.africaventura.co.uk as opposed to www.africaventura.de), nothing would stop them from doing so but the tour would be conducted in English.
We intentionally keep our groups small to ensure a more personal and immersive experience. The vast majority of our tours have a maximum limit of 12 and on average our tours have around 9 travellers. However, a very small number of our trips allow up to 16 travellers.
Our tour prices typically include accommodation, most meals, guided activities, entrance fees, and ground transportation. Specific inclusions are listed on each trip page.

Meet the locals of Nata
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: Private Bus (5:00h)
Today's journey takes you from Kasane to Nata across the vast plains of Botswana. Dusty tracks wind between Mopane trees and the endless grasslands of the Makgadikgadi. Once in Nata, a local guide will introduce you to village life and show you the modern side of the town away from the main road.
In the heart of the village lies the Kgotla, the traditional meeting place under the largest tree. This is a site of respect and community. If the Kgosi is present, you will learn about his important role in the daily lives of the people. Nata is a melting pot of different cultures. The San, who are the original inhabitants of Southern Africa, gave the area its name.
During your visit to a traditional homestead, you will learn about the round clay huts and their unique construction. Impressive termite mounds rise in the surrounding area, reaching up to six metres high, with their building material even being used for houses. Your day in Nata ends as the sun slowly disappears behind the wide plains.

Mokoro trip on the Khwai River
Savuti Safari
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: Offroad vehicle (6:00h), Boat (2:00h)
AfricaventuraPlus: Meeting a local mokoro helmsman
Today you leave the green landscapes of Moremi and head towards the peace of the Khwai River. Before you depart, a local poler will introduce you to the secrets of the mokoro, a traditional canoe used in the delta. On the water, a quiet world opens up for you, interrupted only by a passing elephant or perhaps a bird taking flight.
After this special experience, your journey continues to Savuti. This rugged and wild area is famous for spectacular hunting scenes and bold lions. The drive is long, yet with every kilometre, you draw closer to the heart of predator country.
You will reach your mobile camp in the late afternoon. An evening meal under the stars rounds off a day spent alternating between the gentle waters and the wild savannah.

Indigenous Nature Trail on the Chobe Plains
Savuti Safari
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: Offroad vehicle (6:00h), By Foot (1:00h)
AfricaventuraPlus: Tracker Challenge – Can you read the wilderness?
Today you experience the wilderness in a different way on the Chobe Plains as you continue on foot, far away from the hum of engines. You will join an Indigenous Nature Trail, a guided hike with local experts, to see the savannah from their perspective. You will also learn how closely nature and local culture are linked.
Step by step, your guides will share their knowledge on how to read animal tracks, identify an inhabited burrow or recognise a medicinal plant. At the end of the tour, you can test your new knowledge to see how much you have learned. Every section opens up new insights into this fascinating environment.
Please note that in the Chobe Plains, the type of tent may vary depending on availability or group size. Mini Meru tents might be replaced by larger safari dome tents. The comfort and equipment will remain the same, only the shape of the tent will slightly change.
